More volunteers are invited to participate in the Warwick Study of Mental Defeat in Chronic Pain, based at the University of Warwick.  The study is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and is investigating how mental defeat can influence pain sensation, sleep patterns, social activity, physical activity and general health and wellbeing in individuals who have chronic pain.  The researchers are currently looking for volunteers with chronic pain to complete a short online questionnaire.  The questionnaire has three completion time points and participants will receive a £5 Amazon voucher for each time point that they complete.  To find out more, please click the button below.

This year, the Board of Trustees has chosen Corin Ridout to receive this award. In the past, Corin has raised lots of funds and awareness for us on behalf of his brother Glen, a cluster headache sufferer. These events included the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine. Sadly, Glen passed away not long before this year's virtual London Marathon but Corin was determined to carry on in Glen's memory. We felt that this was a wonderful example of going the extra mile that we've always associated with the Mike Pollock award and that he is a very deserving recipient.

Heartfelt thanks to you, Corin, to your family for the continuing support of the charity and to everyone who made such generous donations to this latest event....

We are terribly saddened to share the news that Vicky Quarshie, Headache Specialist Nurse at Hull Royal Infirmary, passed away on April 23rd 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

Vicky was a member of the BASH council, a founder of the UK Headache Specialist Nurses Group and a Trustee of Park Street Performing Arts Centre where she helped many young people to gain confidence and become performers. She was a great champion of OUCH and was chosen for our Les Charlton Award last year. I had the great pleasure to present her with the award in November during a show she arranged at Park Street to raise funds for OUCH.

Even while she was ill, Vicky was planning what she was going to do next for us. She was such a kind and...

Then member Val Hobbs is asked about what it is like to experience CH and how the condition can affect everyday life.  You can listen below or go to the NMC website to also hear more podcasts. For the CH one,  scroll through the list of podcasts and CH is in No. 3 of Series 2 .  It might be useful to...

This young man has really got behind the cause. He's not only a fantastic support to his mum, Clare, who is a CH sufferer but he has also produced a brilliant YouTube video which has been shared throughout the Facebook community and beyond, raising a massive amount of awareness for the condition. If you haven't yet seen it, here's the link:
