Trustee Appointments Announcement

Following the sad death of our chairman, Mike Pollock, an extraordinary general meeting of the Trustees was held to elect a new chairman.  OUCH is delighted to announce that our patron, Professor Peter Goadsby,  accepted nomination as chairman and was elected unanimously.  The Professor is now based at King's College Hospital and will be the keynote speaker at our London meeting in November.  He has been a staunch supporter of OUCH since its inception in 2001.  In 2001, one of his clinics was running late and several patients started talking to one another and discovered they all had cluster headache.  They then met up online and OUCH was formed in 2001 and became a registered charity in 2002; OUCH owes its existence to our new chairman and we wish him well in his new role.
Colin Allen, trustee and former helpline manager, accepted nomination as vice-chairman and was unanimously elected.  Colin has been a trustee since 2006 and has done a sterling job as helpline manager setting up many of the protocols and training that are now in use. Trustee Liz Kelly, has taken over as helpline manager.
Also appointed as Trustee was Fraser Bailey, husband and supporter of Chloe Bailey, who has organised the first ever OUCH Christmas Cards competition, and has worked with Fixers to raise the profile of CH in the media.  Fraser gave a very accomplished presentation at the Liverpool meeting; his subject was how a supporter can best help their sufferer family member; lots of practical advice from what to do when your sufferer family member has an attack, what NOT to do, getting to know their neuro and taking notes at consultations etc.  Welcome aboard Fraser!
