Pizotifen

Hi there,

6yr chronic sufferer here, but 3yr member of the group and so thankful for what you do!

I've recently been prescribed pizotifen after migralieve, sumatriptan tablets, sumatriptan nasal spray, amitriptyline and candesartan all proved ineffective (as I told medical staff they would) but wondered if anyone else was familiar with this medication?

I'm awaiting contact from the neurologist for my specialist appointment but my GP prescribed these a fortnight ago. However, after an attack when I had to attend A&E for oxygen last Friday the staff there had never heard of pizotifen (and didn't know much about CH either to be fair).

My headaches get worse with warm weather so lately have been quite bad, therefore am not sure the tablets are making any difference. If anyone has experience of pizotifen I'd be interested to hear.

Thank you

Sorry your Doctor is putting you through this.

Pizotifen is a drug used to help prevent migraine, it has no effect on Cluster Headaches.
