Recently diagnosed with cluster headaches!
Hi All.
I am new here after recently being diagnosed properly from the neuro with cluster headaches. I don't know whether I have episodic or chronic but I have suffered for the past 12 months more on then off.
I have been taking propananol and sumatriptan tablets which did nothing. The neuro has me on sumatriptan 0.5mg injection which works a treat, and he's talking about putting me on verapamil but I don't know whether this affects fertility. Does anyone know about this as he didn't know?
Thanks!

Sorry to hear you are experiencing Cluster Headaches but it's good they're diagnosed.
www.nhs.uk links through to here for info on Sumatriptan and pregnancy.
https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/sumatriptan/
The same site has this for Verapamil (on Migraine rather than Cluster Headache):
Which migraine prevention medicines can be considered for use during pregnancy?
Low dose aspirin, propranolol, amitriptyline and verapamil are known to be effective in preventing migraine in the non-pregnant population and have been used in pregnancy for various other conditions. If you and your doctor feel that a migraine prevention medicine is necessary during pregnancy it would be advisable to consider one of the above medicines, taking into account what is known about how the medicine may affect a baby in the womb.
(I should add: am very much not a GP and this is information lifted from the NHS website and a site that the NHS website directs you to).
