Perfume triggers
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone else has had attacks triggered by perfume.
I've just come from an appointment with a neurologist who told me he had never heard of perfume/air fresheners triggering attacks.
I am now starting to second guess my diagnosis and treatment which had been working well.

Solvent, alcohol and perfume smells are common triggers during a bout. I'd advise you seek a Neurologist that specialises in Cluster Headaches and other TACs (Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias)
I'd be more use than your current Neuro.
Give the helpline a call, they know all the good Doctors.
Is your neurologist a headache specialist? I agree with Phil, you need to see a neurologist who specialises in Cluster Headaches and other TACs and the advice line can help you with that. Perfumes are a known trigger for lots of CH sufferers. Give the OUCH Advice Line a call on 0800 6696 824.

Hi! Yes perfume extremely triggers me. I even get the feeling of eating a teaspoon of mustard pain type thing at the back of my nose from it.
For me it's usually the fake perfumes. Which are becoming more and more popular. There must be something in it.
