WINNER OF THE MIKE POLLOCK AWARD

It's an absolute pleasure to announce that the very first winner of the Mike Pollock Award is Mr Darren Hamilton! A very worthy winner indeed. Darren is well known to be consistently helpful to other sufferers, even when he is suffering greatly himself. He goes to great lengths to be helpful and travels the length and breadth of the UK in his famous clusterbus to cheer up his fellow clusterheads with his whacky sense of humour! So many people have been on the receiving end of his endless thoughtfulness and advice and he is very sincere about how he feels for his CH family. I think the words of one of the members who nominated Darren for the award, sums him up perfectly: "A real humble guy who just cares". Congratulations Darren, nobody deserves this more.

Hoorah for Darren!

So well deserved, especially given you do all this when, as a CCHer, you haven't had a pain free day or night for many years.

PRESENTATION OF AWARD

Quite a few hankies were needed when Darren Hamilton became the very first recipient of the Mike Pollock Award at the weekend. Presenting the award was Mike's brother Phil and lots of Mike's family were there for the occasion. Phil thought that Mike would have been very happy with the members' choice of a very caring and selfless man. Congratulations Darren, you deserve to be recognised with this award which was created as a lasting memorium to honour a great man.

Well done Darren!
