Voltarol (diclofenac potassium) as a treatment?

Has anyone heard of Voltarol (diclofenac potassium) as a cluster treatment?

This is Richard, posting on behalf of Wendy, who is three weeks into an episode again - she is using Imigran injections (which work) and O2 which sometimes works although never fully, it seems.

The GP has now prescribed Voltarol 50mg rapid tablets "3x day when required". I've not been able to find anything about this as a treatment so am wondering about it and any help would be appreciated.

Hello Wendy and hubby,

Voltarol is no use in cluster headache unfortunately.  I suggest you read: https://ouchuk.org/basics which details what treatments you can ask your GP for, how to get a referral to a headache neuro and other things for those new to CH.  There is also more info on things in the CH world in the downloads section of the website.  Don't forget we have an advice line and you can e-mail adviceline@ouchuk.org or continue asking questions on the forum.  Hope this helps,

Val.
