Hello, so sorry you have CH. I've just finished a bout of headaches lasting five days. They have been coming and going with a left blocked nostril for the duration and today is my best day, only having a dull ache along the base of my skull.
You may still be in the CH phase although not as painful as initially. I wish you well and hopefully it will all clear soon and you'll be back to normal.
Hi I have the permanent headache symptoms you refer too - they last for a few days though rather than weeks - sorry to hear of your suffering. I recognise the dull ache referred to above (currently on day three of it myself). For me it is always on the right hand side of the base of my skull. I also get pain in my right shoulder and arm. I identify them occuring only after a particularly bad CH. I have been working through various treatments to try and break the cycle to varying levels of success - accupunture/physio/yoga. Whilst not discovering the magic solution I do get benefit from the treatment. I have become a chronic suffer this last 12 months, my October 2019 bout was still ongoing in October 2020! I mention this as it may explain any differences above
I suffer these either before an attack or after I refer to is as a shadow across the one side of my face with a blocked nostril so I understand the frustration

Hello C Brown,
I'd suggest you take the 'Do I have Cluster Headache' questionnaire on our website, that might point you towards what type of headache you have. Also have a read of 'Cluster Headache Basics' for how to get a referral to a headache neuro and get the right meds from your GP. All our info is free to read and download.
Hope you get sorted out soon - and don't forget we have an Advice Line - 0800 669 6824.
