Newly diagnosed

Hi ive just been diagnosed last week with theres cluster headaches, ive never had headaches before this has just started all of a sudden. Im typically having 4-6 every day and using sumatriptan and am on steroids also. Is there anything else i can do?!! This is literally the worst thing ive ever experienced. Is there anyway to help manage it. Ive had an urgent referral to neurolgy and theyre organising an mri. Ive got an appointment with the dr tomorrow as ive been so dizzy today. Is this something that tends to happen? I just dont know what to do.

Hi Sam and welcome to the forum,

I suggest you read this document, Cluster Headache Basics which will fill you in on the background of cluster headache, treatments, what to ask your GP for and getting a referral to a headache neuro, getting access to oxygen etc.  https://ouchuk.org/basics  The document is on the website and is free to download.  You'll also find in the downloads other useful information on cluster headache and living with it.

Don't forget we have an advice line and you can ask questions on adviceline@ouchuk.org and on here.

Happy reading.

Val.
