The response to nerve blocks can vary greatly from sufferer to sufferer, so its a bit like asking how long is a piece of string with regard to if it will work. Some have no effect at all, others have relief for days, weeks or months. The procedure itself is done quickly; if it is a GONB - greater occipital nerve block - that is an injection into the greater occipital nerve at the back of the head. The nerve is just under the skin, takes a couple of minutes and is slightly uncomfortable but nothing bad. MNB multiple nerve blocks are performed not just in the GON, but at other places on the face and forehead, your neuro will determine which sites are suitable.
Hello John
Hope this helps.
Val
My experience had GONB twice did not help.
Had multi cranial block, helped about a week or so but aggrivated migraines.
Had a botox recently not helped re clusters but made migraine less painful for about a month, now getting back to bad migraine again.
