Yes I've been having Botox for my migraines for a over year now. It takes some doing to get it on the NHS - my first round I had to go private for. At the moment I've got £1200 worth in my bonce which makes me look and feel like a film star!
Anyway, I have been having 21 injections in my forehead, temple area and the back of the neck. Its uncomfortable but not painful. For the first few sessions, I had some fluey symptoms a few days later and my forehead felt WIERD, but overall, I found it has eased the migraines considerably - less frequent and the duration is shorter. I did have some additional ones done on some 'cluster spots' on the top of my scalp last month and this seemed to trigger an attack that lasted a week. This can happen apparently. However it might just have been down to some different muscles relaxing, but you just need to know that it can get worse before it gets better.
Overall I would recommend it if you have the chance, it only lasts 3 months so if its no good you are not stuck with it. You do get a mildly 'frozen' forehead, but for me , thats a bonus.
What I say to people is that I still get headaches, but dont look quite so miserable about it haha!
Thats interesting. A GON is one of the things that is on my Neuro's 'to do' list. I feel like an effin guinea-pig-shaped-pincushion sometimes! Did it help at all or did it all go completely pearshaped?
had the GON on two seperate occasions no effect at all. a few months had the mullti cranial injections [about 18 of them] this gave me a week free of clusters, but the week was spoilt by continious migraines.
whenever i get a break from clusters migraine takes up the void.
spoke to many people while sat waiting for GON's all say they worked well for them.

Helloo,
Thats interesting. A GON is one of the things that is on my Neuro's 'to do' list. I feel like an effin guinea-pig-shaped-pincushion sometimes! Did it help at all or did it all go completely pearshaped?
