Topiramate

We just want to make everyone aware of the following:

Topiramate (known as the brand Topamax) is a treatment for migraine and epilepsy sometimes used in CH and should only be prescribed under the supervision of a healthcare professional.  Topiramate is already well known to be associated with an increased risk of congenital malformations and effects on fetal growth if used during pregnancy. Therefore, women who use this medicine should already be advised to avoid becoming pregnant.

It’s important however, that sufferers continue to take their medication unless they are instructed not to by a healthcare professional.
