ITV 'This Morning' cluster headaches
ITV 'This Morning' cluster headaches
Hi all
Thanks to a heads up from member Karen Garrett on our Facebook page, cluster headache got a good mention on This Morning today. about 50 minutes into the show if you want to watch it on i Player. 'This Morning' asked viewers to let them know what health issues they wanted to see discussed and Karen alerted us on Facebook and several of us posted on the website asking to discuss cluster headaches. And it was the first headache condition discussed. Dr Chris gave a good description (did I recognise words from our website?) and did fine, really got across how severe the condition is. At the end of the item, they said there was more info on the This Morning website at ITV.com and they have us listed there with a link as a headache support group and the link takes you straight to the OUCH website. We've alerted our helpliners and arranged back up if there are a lot of calls. Well done Karen for picking this one up and how great we have at last got national TV coverage of CH. Onwards and upwards!

I'll second that "Well done" for Karen! She even alerted me by text that it would be on this morning. I was at a special assembly at the school but was able to arrange having it taped for me. She's a good 'un is our Karen I thought it was a pretty good coverage although he focussed mainly on episodic. Still, there wasn't much time allowed and I bet Dr Chris had to "cram" shortly before being recorded.

So pleased that our badgering on the This Morning Facebook page a few days ago paid off (and thrilled to get a mention too!) Hopefully the emails I've been frequently sending about doing a full piece on CH might get picked up, considering all the positive response they have received on Facebook and Twitter regarding the headache segment today. Well done Karen too! So, so pleased he made the distinction between CH and migraine pain levels. Obviously miffed as a chronic sufferer to not get CCH mentioned, but it is certainly a good start!!

I tried to watch this program but it is almost 2 hours long and the first section was a lot of idle nonsense/chat and that together with loads of ads got fed up and gave up before the doc came on.
cant believe anyone would watch this program.
I posted the link to just the Dr Chris bit on the public facebook page. Tried and failed to put it on here

Mr Git, I like a good documentry, news, films etc. But put on these idle chat programs or soaps and I switch over.
You clearly don't like spelling programmes,David. I have to agree with you, though - chat TV is mind numbing.

I think I speak for everyone when I say I'd be enthralled and positively riveted at the prospect of David presenting chat tv.
I could listen to David for hours chatting about the joys of campervanning!!
Think of the millions saved in the NHS, I'd never need a Sumatriptan again

mr git
not sure what the problem is, at the time I think I have typed correctly even after I read back before sending,
then later I read my post and not only do I get blantant spelling errors I even get whole words missing, this happens quiet often. Got no answer for it, as if the brain corrects it while reading back while fresh in my mind but a couple of hours later there starring at me are the errors how on earth I missed them no idea.
had this problem for a few years now. Never mentioned it before now.
David. I do that all the time, by the time I read it back I just send !,
behave BOYS or you wil go on the naughty step.....
Ok David
No worries mate. I think most of us suffer from CH brainfade, my memory is shot to pieces compared with 15 years ago, I've spoken with many suffererers who report the same thing to me.
The important thing is to maintain a sense of humour. We all have a place in the OUCH family and you have become a firm fixture over the last 4 years or so.
Change nothing my friend, we all love you dearly, and don't worry about the brainfade, it goes with the territory.
We shall overcome....together!!
