Hi,

I've been having cluster headaches for a number of years now and sumitryptan injections work their magic. But I'm now 75 and want to know if it's o.k. To still inject?

Something you need to speak about with your consultant

I'm using Imigran injections. The patient leaflet for this drug states to cease use at 60.  Now I'm in my 50's I'm concerned with what happens at 60, these injections are the fastest treatment so far.  Lugging Oxygen around in the car and only having a 30 minute supply per tank is not ideal. It's definitely something for Neuro to advise.

I've just turned 66 years young and read that you shouldn't use Triptan injections over the age of 65, but have taken advice from my surgery and they said, take with caution. I don't smoke so have limited risk of cardiac factors.

Fingers crossed then..

By the way, I spent eleven years suffering before I was diagnosed with CH. Two years ago I was lucky enough to see a young trainee doctor who diagnosed me. I was struggling with multiple attacks and in desperation my wife looked online and found Ouch. Thanks to all you wonderful fellow sufferers (and the test) I was able to self diagnose and tell the doctor about my symptoms. Although I got Triptans and oxygen they both came too late for that six week bout of attacks, but as I've had more attacks recently I'm about to inject for the first time ever! Can't wait.. :-)

Thanks guys
