Hi everyone
Does anyone know whether watching a 55" LED TV can aggravate cluster headaches? I'm a chronic sufferer and have them regularly but the weird thing I have found is that when I get one while watching our TV, I can be on oxygen in the same room and it makes no difference however if I leave the room and go on the oxygen in a different room away from that TV the oxygen therapy works immediately.
Oxygen therapy works most of the time for the rest of the CH. I used to have them four hourly with a break of a couple of days every ten days or so. Am having some success with Melatonin in that this drug has stopped the four hourly CH attacks overnight, but it hasn't helped the day time ones.
I am now seriously wondering whether the TV screen being so big is not helping, nor the LED technology. Its rented so we can easily change it. Does anyone have any experience of this with a TV?

Hi Jill,
Some sufferers are irritated by a bright screen and usually cannot look at something like TV whilst in an attack. We all have our idiosyncrasies! Screens are best avoided during an attack!

I swear that mine are caused by watching tv from some reason I can be on my phone or computer all day but as soon as I start watching tv in our house my shadows start. I have to get up and do something else or else. For the longest time I thought it was the position of my sitting or laying while watching tv but now i'm thinking it's just tv it self. I'd love to hear what people think.

Bright lights or noises make the pain more intense for me. I remember I had an attack once while I was watching Kirk Douglas in Lust for Life about Van Gogh. It was a long time ago, before the modern TVs, so I was gutted to have to switch off and miss it. Weirdly, it happened again a few years later! I thought I was never meant to see that movie. I did eventually but all things Van Gogh now remind me of CH attacks!
The good news (and message of hope for others) is that I haven't had an attack for over 4 years. At 71, a benefit and an unexpected blessing of advancing years...

When having a bout off ch I can’t watch tv for a long period or it bring an attack on. These new tellys definatly don’t help
