PIP Tribunal success

After initially applying for PIP on 14th December 2017, I finally had my PIP Tribunal on Monday. Unfortunately they had to write to me, as we vastly exceeded the time slot and I received the decision yesterday.

At the PIP assessment and Mandatory Reconsideration, I was awarded zero points across the board. The tribunal have awarded standard rate daily living and enhanced rate mobility. It has taken over 13 months, but finally I have got there. It's nice to finally share something postive, hopefully I will get some effective treatment soon too.

I would urge anyone fighting to get PIP, don't give up, it's not easy and certainly not something you should have to go through whilst suffering with cluster headaches, but it does feel worth it in the end.

That's really good news.  Is there anything you'd credit your "win" to?  (A good piece of evidence, etc?)

My job occasionally involves supporting people with PIP claims (and through the process of Mandatory Reconsiderations and Tribunals), often for people who seem obviously entitled.  I feel fairly certain that the initial "zero points" decisions are very, very deliberate - to discourage people - and I'd definitely echo the "don't give up" sentiment.

Hi, well done! I managed to get through a Tribunal as well. The surgery to replace my toenails is iminent. What an hour that was. I got my decision paperwork on the day, but haven't heard anything from the deaded DWP. Any idea how long it takes? I just have the fear it was all a dream.........

David - I wouldn't say there was any one thing, I think my determination, the people supporting me and I think I was fortunate to have a Judge, disability specialist and Doctor that were actually interested and spent the time to go through everything to try to get the right conclusion.

joey - I think it took nearly 6 weeks to hear from DWP. They phoned to check bank details etc before making payment.
