Occipital Nerve Block

Hi has anyone had endless pain in the back of the head since having occipital nerve block. I had the procedure done roughly 4 years ago and iv had constant pain on top of the pain of CH. I was just curious as to how many people have been left in agony like me.

Paddy, that's a long time to be in such discomfort.  And I would guess that its unlikely to be the actual GONB, as the effects of that injection dissipate completely after 6 months.  It might be that when the injection was done a nerve was damaged or something like that - I'm no doctor I can't diagnose or prescribe - but I really think you should talk to y our headache neuro or headache nurse about this and ask them to take a look to see if there is anything that has gone awry.  We have had people who have had pain after the GONBs, but that has usually been within a very short time period and as the effects of the injectiong wear off the pain has gone.  Talk to your neuro.

Good luck and keep fighting

Val.
