pip should i wait or notify them now

Im not sure whether to let dwp know about my cluster headaches yet i too suffer chronic cluster headaches diagnosed last may with at least 4 episodes daily i have verapamil 120mg 3x day zomig nasal spray and oxygen also greater optical nerve block at moment get dla for my depression but have since been diagnosed with emphysema and cch my dla award runs out in nov took 2yr appeal to get originally so do i wait or bite bullet and put in claim

Hi David,

I'm CCH and got PIP without too much aggro.I got a lot of help from fellow OUCH-ers.

Why not give the helpline a call? They can give you the best advice. Smile

I might my concern is they stop my dla straight away my award runs out in November but since awarded ive been diagnosed with severe emphysema cch and severe wear and tear in hips awaiting hip replacement but dwp seem intent on dragging us all through the mire it took 2yrs appealing last time and i couldn't survive on basic esa

Hi David,

I can understand your worries. I think you need some expert advice from someone who knows the system and how it works. I had a lot of help from the Helpline/ Brain Charity. Can you get to the CAB? I'm sure that everything will be ok, but it can give sleepless nights, not knowing.

Noting that you also experience depression, MIND often have benefits advice services which are very good.  Depends where you live though.
