BOXING DAY DIP
BOXING DAY DIP
This is my crazy grandson Anthony and his brilliant mates who will be running into the North sea on Boxing Day to raise funds for OUCH.
Left to right: Parnell, Adam, Grant, Jack, Anthony and David
Anthony was shocked to see me on oxygen during my last cycle when he was staying with me. He couldn't believe I'd been suffering with CH for all of his life and he had never seen it.. I told him my attacks were mostly during the night or we made sure that he and his twin sister were quickly removed if I had daytime attacks - I took pains to make sure they never saw me in pain. He was amazed to find out that I was 19 when I had my first attacks and that was 50 years ago. I told him how much OUCH helped me and although he was very aware of my involvement with OUCH, it made much more sense to him having seen me get through an attack. He has a lot of respect for the charity and I'm proud that he wants to spread the word and that his pals do too.

They are all mad! We go to watch the Boxing Day swim in Tenby and hundreds of people take part! And Saundersfoot, nearby, has a New Years Day swim. Both are fancy dress occasions and have enormous bonfires on the beach. I get cold enough watching, let alone dipping my toe in the briney! Good luck boys and huge thanks from a little old lady in Wales.

I've got the foil survival blankets on hand already!
Aha! So you save the foil you used to cover the turkey while it cooked! :-)
Good luck boys, Merry Christmas and once again huge thanks.

Well, here are the bravehearts - they did it! I was in the sea to my shins trying to get a good shot but got a good jostling about and by some miracle didn't end up under the waves. Thanks to a couple of my own plus a few from the boys' parents, here are some photos of the event.
Brilliant !!! Well done lads. Did the nun have a wetsuit underneath ?
Haha, no - they were quite hardy and withstood the bitter cold in just their shorts.
Fandabbydozey! Well done the lads and you too Dorothy for rattling the bucket for OUCH. Wonderful stuff.
Happy New Year
