Awareness
Hi - My 14 year old son has got the agreement of his Head Teacher to be able to give a talk to the 1200 pupils on 21st March and raise CH awareness. Just wondered if OUCH have any presentational material he could use on the computer screen on stage?

What an awesome son you have. 1200 future adult citizens will grow up having a clue about CH!
Could be worth googling cluster headache power point presentation and sifting thru endless migraine stuff (yawn) to see if there is anything he can use. Also googling cluster headache and clicking on images brings up some useful visuals. And how about a two minute video from you tube? The one I always use to get people right in the zone is 'Chuck Cluster Headache'. It is attention grabbing, starts with some text about CH, and no one who's seen it would ever think it appropriate to suggest an aspirin. And how about throwing in that Daniel Radcliffe has ECH. Actually googling about him and CH should throw up some phrases that could be quoted in direct relationship to a famous person that they will all know off"
Rock on your son! H
That is wonderful Lisa that your son is going to be able to do this and to be so willing! Why don't you email info@ouchuk.org to see what might be available?
Thanks Harriet. I will check out the You tube clip etc. Have already directed my son to the Daniel R angle, in order to grab the kids attention.
Thanks Elizabeth
How did it go, Lisa?
Arise and be all that you dreamed.
Hi All
Miles has a longer and more formal presentation being considered by the school governers at the moment.
He is also seeking approval to be able to visit other secondary schools across Harrow and roll out the presentation to a wider audience. I am very proud of him, as this was all his own idea and in response to the "Under the Hat" campaign. He has somewhat thrown the school - as no pupil in their long history has ever requested the opportunity to present their own assembly.
One interesting query that has arisen - Miles had lots of enquiries from pupils wanting to purchase the old style OUCH t-shirt - the one with the hammer and nail (typical of teenagers!!) Could somebody from OUCH please advise whether you still have any left, how much they are and how these kids can go about purchasing one? Miles could perhaps sell some OUCH products after his presentation, if he is given the go ahead to offer it to other schools to raise awareness. We have a lot of high profile public schools in Harrow and I see no reason why he shouldn't dip into that market as well.
Lisa we unfortunately don't have any of the old style teeshirts left, I'm happy to send him some wrist bands to sell as needed.
regards
scott
R u able to place a special one off order if kids pre-pay? If so, what quantity is required and at what price?
As a side note: I get a lot of enquiries from the public if I wear the old style shirt, because of the writing on the back, as well as the unusual image on the front. Nobody has ever responded to the new style, so I've given up wearing it as a tool to spread awareness.
The writing on all 3 of my wristbands has rubbed off. Not sure teenagers will be enthused by the bands; I will need to ask Miles

Hi Lisa
An update on the wristbands, they are now engraved so the print doesn't rub off.
Val.
Lisa I just want to say that I think your son is amazing! This is absolutely fantastic.

Lisa I was doing a cupboard out and found my old style t shirt. It's been worn once by my grandson for the ice bucket challenge but I'll send it to you if you'd like it x
