Hello all

I need your expert help, I have never claimed anything before and am looking to understand what and how I can claim bennifits for my diagnosed CCH and DDD

I was forced out if my job over a year ago, but took volentary option as they paid my notice.

What and where do I start?

What can I claim ?

Can I claim anything?

Many thanks for any help or advice

hi jason, not quite expert but i know a bit that mite help you, yes you can claim pip and esa, you need to fone dwp dep work pensions, ask for esa and pip forms, you will need medical evedence, docs or nuros letters explaining what you have and how it affects you also to explain you will need a home visit, if you miss your health assesment due to having an attack your claim will be cancled, the main criteria for pip is dose it affect you more than 50% of the time? answer each qustion as if your having your worst day, i answered most of mine "not during an attack" then gave an explanation what an attack is and recovery time ect.. a headache diary is good idea to show this, the home assesment important tho, sadly most 1st claims get turned down but are won hands down on appeal, if you need more time filling the form in just ring them and explain no probs, any questions just ask d

Correction re PIP criteria. It is are you affected 'on over 50% of the days' of the year; not over 50% of the time. Makes a big difference.

Thanks for the help, even though I have a letter from neuro saying I have chronic cluster headaches I am going to get the Dr's to refer me back as the last neuro Dr said if I need letters or help see her again and she would write them.

Yes I get them everyday and they last on a bad day most of the day, and now are going into my sleep time as well, I think in he last month I've had maybe two days headache free although I could still feel it lingering

I lost my job over this condition and am now struggling financially so I will fight my corner with them

Thanks

Jas

Some counties keep a database of disabled residents. Handy to be on there.

Consider bus pass, blue badge. etc

Surrey has one, Hamshire does not.

From wiltshire, I didn't know CCH was classed as a disability, I wish I'd known that last year before I was forced from my job, 13 years to get up the ladder and fall all the way down in a couple .
