multiple cranial block
Now I have had the GONB twice in the past and it never helped. I get clusters either side and they can sometimes even change side.
I have the chance of opting for MCNB and was wondering if anyone who has failed on the GONB found that the MCNB helped.
Or anyone report back on their experiece of the multiple cranial block.

I had the MCNB carried out a couple of years back at Queens Square. It didn't work for me but we are all different and I hope it provides you with some relief.
The procedure is a bit daunting but after a 20 minute rest you are ready to go, albeit with 20 odd punctures.
Good luck and give it a go....it may just do the trick
john thanks this will be at QS too did not know it was so many jabs, hoping with the jabs arond the side of the head it might help as this is where the pain is. The rear of the head where the GONB goes is not a pain area in my clusters or migraines.

I've had the gonb and mcnb. The gonb worked for me the first time but then in following blocks it was not as effective. I have had the mcnb 3 times now and I found it to be a great relief...it reduced severity and gave me some respite. I am not good with injections/needles but it was fine. I did find it better to have it done when laying down as the first time when I was sat up I did become dizzy.

just had bad run trying new med called nortriptyline, got my hopes up the jabs work.

had the jabs, lost count of how many but there was a lot over a dozen, the ones in each eyebrow were very painful maybe the most painful jabs i have ever had, the others were ok.
has it worked? [two prev gonb saga;s did nothing]
so far good points do not feel tired and washed out in the evenings, the bed time cluster has gone, i sleep well, and the early morning cluster gone too, wake up refreshed instead of very restless.
the not so good points.
during the day get on/off very sharp pain headaches last about an hour then come back after about another hour all day long they are not like my migraines [no aura, but are worse if i move about]
not like clusters either but i do get the spells of intense restlessness late afternoon and evening like a cluster without the head pain, also still get face pain upperjaw eyes like in the clusters.
hoping the day time headaches are the bruised nerves setteling down.
any one else who has had this treatment had similar, not sure how to complete the diary as they neither fit migraine or cluster.
first cluster back tonight well had 6 nights free, longest break for a very long time, back on the imigraan and o2.
