bending over

I spend a bit of time in the garden removing weeds etc. I have just recently got another strange symptom when I bend over my head hurts, after a few occasions the feeling in my head goes into cluster attack. never had this before although often get dizzy bending over which i have always put down to verapamil [low blood pessure or mild heart block]

anyone else had clusters from bend over, now reluctant to bend over, having to sit down on the ground to garden now.

David, it may be that you are aiding the vasodilation process by bending over. Pretty much the same as lying down.

Hi Duetto

I have just reieved a grant from the Social Fund as I can't sleep lying down even in Hospital I would sleep on a reclining chair, and I have done this for the past three years.

There you go. Lying down or bending over is a guaranteed hit for me,when in cycle. I always go to sleep propped up at an angle of at least 45 degrees.

David, I wish you would be a little more circumspect about your thread titles...............I thought I'd hit a dodgy website when I logged in.

HAVE A RECLINING CHAIR THAT I DON'T WANT OR NEED WAS GOING TO GET COUNCIL TO TAKE TO TIP I got its brand new as was refused the social fund loan as too exspensive as they start at about £1,000 upwards for a good one, mine i tried it a few times, but sadly due to my knee deformity when it leans back & my feet get raised it means my knee caps float. So due to that when I use it after a while I get really bad pain in my knees, hip, then when I try & stand up as my legs are weak from shaking. When I try to stand my knee caps are not in right place & also weak so I was having to use a frame,as had to rest on that till feel able to walk.Since then the chair has been put under a cover in my living room, can't wait to get rid of it sadly I can't pace up & down or walk as my knees are too bad,so have to lay sat up but struggling as got muscular fascitus so when bad its very painful to turn on oxygen & use then injection pen but when really bad can not even hold the pen or turn on oxygen, the oxygen company brought a thing to fit on flow but sadly that made it worse as couldn't get my hand in to turn it.So for past month been having to cope with out oxygen or pens but if you would like this chair you would be welcome to have it for free as long as you don't mind the flower material I hated it so covered it with a throw so offer is there if you want it,as I am getting fund grant to get a snuggle chair or two sweater sofa as till I can I can't sit in my living room have to stay in bedroom. So the offer is there has remote & all the stuff that came with it & hardly used so if want it then its your if not if there is any one that could use it they can have the chair.Amethyst

This is Not a lazy boy its a medical equipment chair that can lay flat at different angles & also will help you stand up it cost over £1,500 so its like the ones in adverts for elderly, has a remote for you to change your position when flat.So if you need your head higher than your legs you can, then when you want will help you stand up as can be difficult that's why I offered as know a lazy boy wouldn't make any difference .

Sounds like heaven - those chairs are amazing! I know that I'm new to this site, but if there is another one of these chairs going spare, please let me know! I'd love one but can't afford it :-(

I've used a pile of pillows topped by one of those V shaped pillows for years now.  I can't sleep lying flat and I snapped at one nurse at QS who tried to lower my bed head during the night once.

I have a hard pillow which i bend over one sometimes twice and just started putting a firm cushion on top too. most attacks on my right side so i try and get some pressure there will sometimes helps too.

one daft thing i tried ages ago was a "medicpillow" with sewn in magnets gave me a dreadful 24hour severe head pain never again.

These chairs are not coming from charity I posted when saw someone was going to apply to social fund to get one,so thought would offer mine as cant use it,So if Colin or anyone else can advise about donating this chair to Ouch

So how long have you had Ch?TMC if you don't mind me asking "just to say Its Not A Lazy boy" it's a recliner chair with remote.I got brought it new for my arthritis am unlucky that my due to my deformity i couldn't use it,but as cant stand so can't pace but lucky have an electric bed raiser that can go from flat to 45 degrees. But lucky these can be got through a local Occupantional Therapist mine is to help me sit up due to arthritus lucky as can use with the fab V pillow,& am same its called don't mess with my pillow pile as poor warden found out other night.

I'm a new survivor. I was diagnosed by GP in May and Neuro last week. Im just finding sleeping tough at the moment and trying to get used to living with the beast. From what you've said, it soundly like this chair might be overkill for me.

David, have you tried the hospital way of banking pillows?  You'll need four.  put one pillow across the bed almost against the headboard/wall.  Then take two pillows and make an inverted v with the bases resting against the outer edge of the horizontal pillow and then put the fourth pillow across the top of the inverted V, that doesn't slip so much as the conventional pile and rolled up pillows, but the inverted V pillows supported by some ordindary  ones is best of all.

spoke on the phone to the headache nurse, advised to discuss with the gp. when i mentioned bending over and headaches she took bloodpressure that was ok so advised i go for an eye test!!!!!!!!!

well been searching the net i have a mild nerve neuropathy apparently that can cause blood pooling and prevent constriction of blood vessels may explain my bending over and lying down problems and some of my other symptons listed there too. awaiting call back from headache nurse at the end of the week.

may be a red herring but so many of my unexplained sytoms listed here.

the info incase anyone else is similar

Neuropathy is quite common with diabetics. Bending over resulting in headache is also symptomatic of a person who is not properly hydrated.
