Why?
I've just finished tidying up my bedroom after 2 bad nights - the oxygen mask was on the floor instead of hanging from the headboard, there were empty sumatriptan boxes on the chest of drawers, there was an empty can of 'Pain Relief Spray' on the floor and the bed looked like a battlefield.
So my question is why is it that sometimes the oxygen and sumatriptan have no effect at all?

That's a question only a health professional could answer. All I can add is what type of oxygen mask are you using? Do you go on the oxygen at the first sign of an attack? do you stay on the oxygen after the attack has gone? Do you do the injection at the first sign of the attack or wait until it has ramped up? I'd suggest that rather than answer questions on here which would take time - why not call the helpline, leave your name and number and one of our volunteers will call you back between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm or at a time you state suits you. NB calls from volunteers are returned from withheld numbers.

Hi Lewis,
Val got there before me!
I dont know the answer to this, but my experience is that I find the O2 helpful as long as I get the mask on at the first twinge (in my case the tingling temple). Any later then it doesnt really help at all. I dont use the injections as they give me a frightening 'about to have a heart attack' feeling, so cant comment on that.

Thank you Val, I will try the helpline.
