Injection sites

Morning guys.

Whats the the best place people have found to give the sumatriptan injections? I'm quite a muscly person so the thigh is always a really painful place to inject. I know it's supposed to be a fatty area for subcutaneous, just want to know other people's experiences with this..

thanks

Thanks
Sheppy

Um, I inject into the area at the top of my hip [its a little well padded these days!].  But anywhere below the waist is fine.  I find the thigh area more painful than my hip area, I sometimes hardly feel the jab there.

I too use the fat above hips at side of stomach [pinch an inch of fat and inject into it], leg far too painful.

Thanks Duetto, I'll try that tonight during my midnight onslaught. I'd much rather use a vial and an insulin needle than these auto-pens that are loaded with shotgun shells!

Thanks
Sheppy

Don't tell your Doc or any affiliated members of OUCH.
-Just between us, okay?

Technically, OUCH may not, and will not, endorse nor condone, the tampering or mis-use of medicines, medical devices or equipment.

There are a few big names associated with this organisation, OUCH needs to stay squeaky-clean to survive.
Don't be surprised or insulted if these posts are deleted for that purpose.

Should really have one of those disclaimers.

Sheppy and Tangerine Army, your posts have been removed as OUCH does not support or recommend splitting doses.  Its not the amount that you have, its the number of times you use Imigran.  Each use, no matter whether injection, spray or tablet has an action on the heart and two a day for the injections is the licensed safe dosage.  There is also a contamination risk with splitting doses and of course split doses may have reduced efficacy.
