Does CH/SUNCT or topiramate react badly to local anaesthetic?
Does CH/SUNCT or topiramate react badly to local anaesthetic?
I had to have an upper molar tooth extracted today which was almost in line with the centre of my LEFT eye (hope that makes sense). I was terrified, but the actual extraction and the anaesthetic injection was fine. For the first hour or so after leaving the dentist my head and tooth felt great! After about 2 and a half hours after leaving the dentist, I had the biggest kip 10 RIGHT sided attack I have ever had. So bad, that it has re defined what I would now call a kip 10! Anyway, this is all still fairly new to me (I am diagnosed SUNCT, but await any further diagnosis re longer attacks), sometimes I get nauseous with attacks but this time I was really really sick. That has never happened before. This all went on for about 45 minutes, then cleared like a normal attack would. I had several 'normal' short attacks through the day then ate a soft light dinner on the ok side of my mouth. Ate it all ok. Then 20 minutes later BAM a repeat of the kip 10 and being sick and everything. Only thing I can think of is maybe it could have been a reaction to the anaesthetic. Does anyone know of any problems with anaesthetic and ch/sunct/topiramate? I will of course bring this up with my neuro when I eventually get to see him again. I was wondering if anyone else has had any bad experience with anaesthetic

Tooth pain goes through the Trigeminal nerve.
Trigeminal is the "T" in TAC (Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgia).
SUNCT (I'm sure) is classified as a TAC.
The conclusion could well be the simplest, you lost a tooth.
