Imigran ups the pain

had several mild clusters today, after six attacks took an imigran jab [the others I had not taken imigran] instead of helping it took the cluster up to a high pain level.

Had the normal tightning in the head after the jab but instead of easing it upped the pain very quickly.

Had this happen in the past a couple of times, but not for ages. not seen it mentioned in the forums.

anyone else had this.

Actually is has been mentioned, we tend to call it "spiking" David.

Yes, I too get the spiking - its as if the beast is getting angry with us for trying to shove him out of the picture!  Doesn't happen every time, but it can make me gasp when it does!

val got so fed up with repeated clusters only mild/med and short and thought a jab would break the bad run, was very wrong.

had it the past a few times but not for ages.

Omg ... you think things can't get any worse... and then they do. I've not heard of spiking before, my heart goes out to you duetto.  One thing I thought we could all rely on was an Imigran injection ....

Martin, don't worry, it doesn't happen to everyone, in fact I would say the majority of Imi jab users don't experience the spiking; it may not happen to you.

I find that if I have the oxygen ready to go before i do the jab and then go straight onto the 02, there is no spiking, or very little.

Val. :)
