New to CH

Hi, my husband has been recently diagnosed with CH.  Currently he has tried Sumatriptan orally to no avail - the GP is now trying Indometacin as he wanted to rule out Hemicrania Continua, this seems to be reducing the extremes of pain but the mild pain is still continous. Does anyone know if this should work for all of the pain?  It is all very worrying, but he has had a CT scan to rule out anything more sinister.  I have read the supporters tips which are great - Thanks.  Any other advice/support is much welcomed.

Tracey, the triptans pills are not the correct treatment for CH, they take far too long to work. If he has HC and has taken indomethacin they are virtually guaranteed to work . If he is still in pain I would suggest he hasn't got HC. The correct treatment for CH is sumatriptan injections which work within 10 minutes and high flow oxygen. These are the two recommended in the BNF 4.7.4.3.
