GON Block injections and CH changing sides?
Hi there, I'm a first time poster. I have a history of migraine with aura, BPPV, and vestibular migraine, and had my first CH in September 2024. I was very lucky in that my GP diagnosed me correctly right away, and got the ball rolling with verapamil, sumitriptan and a neurology referral. Getting oxygen has been a challenge, but I'm awaiting a delivery now.
Like all of us, I have been completely debilitated by CH, and when not having an attack I was experiencing my other migraines. In April, my neurologist gave me GON Block injections, and I have not experienced any pain for 7 weeks. I still experience other symptoms, extreme fatigue (maybe verapamil), dizzy spells, blurred vision, tinnitus, and the pain is beginning to come back, but is very mild in comparison.
The unusual thing us I feel like I have CH pain, but mild/toned down, in my opposite eye?! I'm thinking I will know more if its a CH as the injection wears off (I will be due another at 12 weeks), but can I please ask if anyone else has experienced CH changing eyes?
Any shared experiences much appreciated, and interested to know if the gon block has helped others.

During my diagnosis with my neurologist, I think I had one CH attack on the opposite side, after telling him my attacks are always the same side, but with all the REM sleep deprivation during a bout, I could never be sure.
Your symptoms could be from your treatment, verapamil or the vertigo, but you should speak to your GP just to make sure there's no other underlying conditions.
Thanks Phil, will definitely continue to log symptoms and pain levels to share with my doctors, and time will tell if the CH comes back as the GON Block wears off.
I am just so impressed by the impact the injections have had on my pain, and hope others find similar relief
