Acupuncture

Hello everyone my name is Richard, this is my first post so please bear with me.

Having recently been diagnosed with CH earlier this year I am trying almost anything to try & help prevent an attack. I am taking verapamil, which has helped reduce the frequency of the attacks & they do not seem to be as painful (maybe I am getting used to the pain? If you could ever get used to it!) After a battle with my local GP,  with the help of the neuroligist I now have oxygen, which is a godsend.

I am still struggling to come to terms with it all, as it just started for no reason.  It has effected my every day life, I am just grateful I have a lovely kind & caring wife & that I work from home.

Has anyone tried acupunture? Did it work for you. As I am seriously considering trying it

Wishing you all a pain free day, evening, life

Best wishes

Rich

Hi Rich,

Ive not tried acupuncture, although I've tried just about everything else. Are you on the correct dosage with Verapamil? It would be worth giving our advice line a call so they can go through a few things with you. Good luck if you try acupuncture.

Hi Colin,

Thank you. I've just got back from my first session of acupuncture. My last attack was Wednesday evening. So I will see how it goes. Am keeping everything crossed that it helps/works.

Hi Rich

I tried acupuncture years ago but it did nothing for me. Did you ring our advice line for a chat? Hope things have improved for you.

Hi Dorothy,

Thank you for your message. I've had 3 sessions of acupuncture now, but I don't think it's helped me either.

I was willing to give it a try, to try & break the cluster. Been suffering since February, the longest period without an attack, was almost 2 weeks. I thought/was hoping that they'd stop & I'd get a longer break from them.

I have called the advice line a couple of times, they were very helpful, understanding & gave me some good advice.

I hope you are painfree & have a nice weekend

Hi Lymestoney,

Thank you for your message.

I've not tried the sumatriptan injections, as the spray does work for me.

Hope you have a lovely weekend
