Had my Jab on the 10th Feb for other underlying issues, Zero side effects. I had the Pfizer version. Didn't affect my headaches either.

Hi All

Just found OUCH & thought I'd sign up to share my experience. Around 20 years ago (after many years of suffering) I was diagnosed with cluster headaches. They'd reoccur every year for around a month (usually in August). A couple of years after the diagnosis they suddenly stopped and haven't been back since...until nearly 3 weeks ago on the night of my AstraZeneca jab. Since then, I've had one every evening (and sometimes another in the morning).

After speaking to 111, I went to A&E on Sunday. I've been prescribed sumatriptan (50mg) and co-dydramol to "ride it out" (neither seem to be helping much TBH). FWIW, I don't think I'm the only one either eg:

Heopfully it's a one off cluser that won't last *too* much longer Sad

Cheers

I have had both my Covid vaccines (Astra Zenica) and had no ill effects in headaches.

You need the sumatriptan injections rather than tablets which take too long to work. Do you have oxygen? There's a form in downloads for this https://ouchuk.org/downloads and it works even better with a demand valve. Info in downloads.

I have had one jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine. It didn't trigger a cluster headache.

Yes had both jabs. No side affects that I have noticed. Although my cluster period has moved. Usually stats in or around Dec./ Jan. But this year, it started late. I am in the middle of a cluster period now, verapamil at the moment is only working if I take an extra 4th pill. 480mg a day. Not taking anything else, was offered steroids. But want to stay away from those. Not tried oxygen yet, but have downloaded the forms. Lets see.

I'm out of my cluster period now but it shifts quite a bit (though settled on January for a while).

I'm amazed that anyone could end up on Verapamil and be offered steroids before Oxygen.  Doesn't feel like it makes much sense.

(As ever - not a doctor and maybe it makes total sense?)
