That is a very long wait. Do you know if they are a headache specialist neurologist. It would be worthwhile giving the Ouch helpline a call as they know of headache specialists in your area. You could then return to the doctor and get the specialist referreal amended if the one you have is not an appropriate specialist. If you are happy with the one you have it would be worth ringing the consultants office and ask if you could be on a reserve list for any cancellations which may get you an appointment sooner.

it is likely you will need to return to your doctor in any event to sort out a repeat prescription for the Sumatriptan injections if they work for you. Two a day is the maximum. Your doctor seems to have read the NICE guidelines since he/she has moved you from nasal sprays to injections which is good. It would also be a good opportunity given the delay in seeing a specialist to ask for Oxygen again which would hopefully reduce the number of Sumatriptan injections if the O2 worked. You could offer to cancel the oxygen if it didn’t work or at the end of your Cluster period, if you are an episodic sufferer. Just a few of my thoughts anyway.

Hope it clears up quickly Si. It's hard to bear after 4 years free. Glad you have oxygen.
