currently in massive pain..... I'm a long time user of propanolol (beta blocker heart med) used as pain control but am having to get off it and go clear in order to get a base-line ecg before starting verapamil.
Has anyone else had the problem/
unfortunately I suffer 3 distinct "migraine" forms plus CCH.... its taken 30 yrs to get this far....
any help / advice would help although I gather most people suffer CH on its own.

PermalinkHello Malcolm
Hello Malcolm
Are you under the care of a headache neuro? And if so was it him/her who is taking you off the propranalol prior to starting verapamil? Quite a few members have multiple headache conditions and the treatment is difficult to organise as what treats one condition may set off another one or cause bad side effects. I am sure some of the other members who suffer migraine conditions as well as CH will chime in with their experiences.

Permalinkyup... under hull neuro
yup... under hull neuro
I have to come off propanolol in order to go onto verapamil.... its not recommended to be on 2 opposing heart meds at the same time.
the problems with changing from one to the other is nothing compared to being put on crestor for cholesterol... yet another statin that I reacted extremely violently to
ho hum.....

(now off crestor as I am refusing to be that ill.... nice only to worry about different migraines and CCH again... much simpler---- on towards verapamil I go)
