Out of interest, has anyone on here had meningitis & how does the head pain differ?

I haven't had meningitis, but in 1990 I did have herpes simplex enchephalitis which had severe headache as one of the symptoms. I can't remember much about the first few days in hospital, but I do remember a terrible headache before I was admitted to hospital along with severe vomiting, pain in neck region, etc. I had a lumbar puncture, negative for meningitis and then blood tests eventually revealed the HSE. Do you think you have meningitis? Just wondering...

Thankfully I have never had Meningitis, but have often wondered how the pain compares! I hope you are ok and you have not got this to add to the list?
