This sounds like a nightmare for you. I'm sure others will be better placed to advise you about the 'abandonment', which seems absolutely unbeliveable, given your confirmed diagnosis.
However, my GP tried me on Duloxetine, which is an antidepressant and also can some effect on peripheral nerve pain.I was depressed- due entirely to this condition (I'm CCH, so it goes without saying), and it did perk me up a bit in that respect , but it didnt help me at allwith the attacks.
I was on other CH meds as well and I found the cumulative doping effects too much to contend with, so came off it.
I'd suggest call our helpline for a chat about possible second opinion referral to a neuro who won't give up on you; and second and to discuss other treatment options. I've never heard of a headache neuro giving up on one of his patients, that's awful.
Hi, I take duloxetein 120mg at night, I've been taking it for probably 3 years or more and I think it was my neurologist who suggested it. I was prescribed it for my depression in the hope that if my mood improved then my head would be better, that might be why it was given to you. I have multiple conditions so I can't honestly say whether it works or not. Sorry that wasn't very helpful to you, I hope you get some relief either way. As for your neurologist, I suggest he gets a different job, I feel for you I have an amazing neuro and would have given up years ago without him. Keep trying.
