scott the forms were all changed too its all about how many yds you can walk, tried google but could not find any ref to urgent access to bulky medical equipment other than for babies.
hoping some one has been here before and can offer tips.
how many yards can you walk with a full blown Kip 10? I say approximately 5yards. Remember all questions should be asnwered as if you were in an attack
scott
I put all that in the application, some times i can walk normal other times when i have a cluster or flare up of nerve probs i cannot walk till I recover.
but i can see it now i have a good day on the assesment with a report back he walked ok. i even copied the black ouch card and put it in the application. i will take the martyn lewis dvd and a laptop and try and get them to watch the short clip at the start of the assesment, got it ten days so hoping I can get some tips.
Good Luck with it.
I'm about to apply for a BB and didn't think there would be a problem as I've been granted higher on both sections (PIP)... Worrying now that they will reassess me or not be granted a BB for the oxygen reason..!
Arise and be all that you dreamed.
choleS if your high level mobility in PIP or DLA your ok, just add a photocopy of the award with your application.
be keen to heard how you managed the higher award on mobility PIP I am lower level and due for renewal in 2015.
I had my assessment at home and (un)fortunately had the makings of an attack, so the assessor could see my constant shaking and how My fiancé had to walk me to the bathroom, get me ice, etc, ie I couldn't do it myself even at that level of attack. I provided a very detailed letter from my neuro about my case as well as some more basic 'what is CH' articles. To add to that, I only had my large cyclinders at the time and obviously, I can't carry them around with me... I also explained that when my partner works away, I have to go to my parents as I can't be alone during an attack.
Arise and be all that you dreamed.
choleS thanks for that reply.
went today for blue badge asessment, took martyn lewis dvd, black ouch card, big o2 tank, & present blue badge [about to expire].
saw two ladies a physio and a rehabilitation woman i think she was, both pleasant and helpful but they did not want to see any of the items i took.
I told them the forms were of no use explanining my circumstances they had a copy of my application and covering letter. I was told it is now a national form so you may all have the similar problems.
we had a chat about my clusters and how i need quick access to o2 and why i need a blue badge.
I feel slightly more positive than negative but no idea what they will recommend.
my badge expires in may so may be i little while before i report back, if i see the £10 fee go out on my bank statement i will know I am OK.
I would be keen to here feedback on how the rest of our readers are getting on with these new forms and asessments.
Got the BB in the post today, which was great news. For o2 users do not be put off when you renew your BB the new forms are national ones so they are the same everywhere for everyone, put in a covering letter, and a copy of the black ouch card. You will no doubt be called to an assessment as you do not fit the criteria on the forms. Be preparred to fully explain the effects of your cluster attacks and remind them the quicker you gain access to your o2/imigran jabs the better the chance of it working.
Good advise David, pleased you got it.
