Hello.
i wonder if any one can advise or has had similar experiences.
My CHs have been a 'little' better recently, I'm still getting 3 to 5 attacks most nights, so sleep is very disrupted, but oxygen does seem to reduce the duration of each one and to be honest whilst they are disruptive, the pain has rarely been above 6 for several months.... Until yesterday! When I had a k9 and on the other side of my head!! The same thing happened last night, I had 4 manageable CHs on normal side (for me the left) but a humdinger of one on the other side in the early morning. But bizarrely my head (shadows I spose) is still aching on the normal side, with no after effect on the other side???
has this happened to others?
also, I have recently noticed that the pupils in my eyes are tiny, somehow I feel this is linked with CH. Is it? And I'm not sure, because during an attack I can't open my eyes anyway... But at other times I feel I am becoming more sensitive to light.

not had the pupils but last six weeks or so had a lot on the left side which are a lot more painful than the right where i normaly get most clusters, even my odd migraine has moved to the left too. yesterday and today they are back on the right.

its not unusual for CH to swop sides - at least one sufferer I know used to have them swap sides during the attack, let alone from one attack to another, also a constricted pupil is one of the autonomic symptoms of CH. You also get a constricted pupil with morphine based drugs - good old Sherlock Holmes solved a case by looking at the victim's pupils.

night time ones often switch sides, putting pressure on the side of the head to block the pain will sometimes make it swap sides, yet never on a day time one. Had this many times but not always.

Thanx people! Yes Val I know morphine constricts pupils.... That's a reason why I'm very conscious of this, because I work as a drugs worker and I can pick out a heroin user by their pinned eyes at a glance. And my eyes now look pinned all the time! And I've used no meds that would do that. So it is interesting that it is a symptom of CH too.
when 'it's' attacking the other side of my head.... It almost feels like it's being vindictive, like it's actually reminding me that 'it' will and can attack me how ever and when ever 'it' wants, especially when I'm feeling like I might be on a cusp of beating 'it!'
