SUNCT becoming more sinister?

Hi everyone,

I have chronic SUNCT. I've had mother of all colds over the last week and a half and 4 nights of unbearable pain, waking at about 2am each time (doesn't happen normally). I've have 'dental' pain across upper left jaw then the worst stabs across my eye - much worse than my 'normal' SUNCT pains. It had me pacing up and down and crying and hubby wanting to call for ambulance. Various combinations of OTC painkiller and codeine had little impact.

I take 600mg Lyrica, 10mg Amytripyline and have just started Topirimate 50mg at night.

I am hoping this is a side effect of the cold and not SUNCT becoming CH.Due to see Prof Goadsy in Jan but I am worried.Anyone experienced anything similar?

i get a lot of pain in roots of teeth sometimes, since having a night time gum shield it has helped a lot but not 100%. Seems those with these headaches grind their teeth or clench the jaws tight in their sleep.
