Hi and welcome to OUCH!

If your GP diagnosed you I hope he has also arranged for you to have oxygen and sumatriptan injections. He sent you to the right place for info on the condition, so have a good look around the website, there's a wealth of information to read.

Did the Dr refer you to a headache specialist neurologist? If that hasn't been done yet, give our helpline a ring and they'll point you in the direction of the nearest one to you. Leave your details and someone will ring you back free of charge. Calls received before 2.00 pm will be returned the same day, calls received after 2.00 pm will be returned the following day. Messages left at weekends will be returned on Mondays, unless the call is of an urgent nature. Alternatively you can email us on helpline@ouchuk.org.

Oh good, I hope it's a headache specialist you'll see. I'd still strongly recommend oxygen in the meanwhile and if you find sumatriptan spray takes too long, ask to switch to injections. All the information you need is in our downloads section in the menu.

Thank you yeah I will be seeing a headache specialist I have just learnt all about oxygen therapy so I will ask about that as at moment I'm on a trial run of the sprays to see if they work so far they are not effective for me
